OP Lonereader Mutt Joined: Mar 2011 Posts: 126 Alpine	Looking through my photobucket album found some pics of an overnight hike I did thought the Yard might enjoy: Lake I was hiking around A safer part of the trail. It got more dangerous... Loaded up. You can see how narrow the path is here I was in quite a lot of fear about icicles dropping on me and killing me! Looking off the edge - probably 50-70ft feet drop Looking up the mountain One of the many avalanche run-offs I had to cross <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> Another I survived! [img]http://i1185.photobucket.com/albums/z348/the_alias2/P2180052.jpg[/img] Tent for the night [img]http://i1185.photobucket.com/albums/z348/the_alias2/P2170045.jpg[/img] Drying my clothes on a hap hazard line - I was dog tired at this point but knew I had to dry my clothes and eat: [img]http://i1185.photobucket.com/albums/z348/the_alias2/P2170050.jpg[/img] Gnocchi with homemade dried pasta sauce The next day I found this sign! It reads "Walking path closed due to avalanche risk and falling stone risk" [img]http://i1185.photobucket.com/albums/z348/the_alias2/aviwarning.jpg[/img] Time to head back - originally had planned two nights but if it was set to get worse well...quit when you are ahead!
