Nice pictures, looks like real challenging hiking terrain!

Would love to get some experience in swiss.

Very cool. Nothing like camping in snow to get the juices flowing. Nice pics.

Once when we were hiking in Switzerland there was a sign that said something like "you'll be killed by the rushing water" but my French is pretty bad. On top there was a metal ball. We hiked past it and on the way down it started to rain, the ball on top started blinking with red lights, I figured that was a bad sign and we hightailed it out of there.

You are a braver man than I

Aimless - yeah good thing you did. Some of those steams are near dam run offs and they will release the water with very little warning! You have signs warning about it at least!

Yeah we were in Val D'herens so one time we were downstream from that giant dam. I had to have a talk with my wife about that when she went across one of the streams when there was no need to, although the lights were not going. The one we did have to cross was far above the dam though so I assume it was potential run off from rain since we were towards the top of a snow covered mountain and the warning went off when it started to rain.

We ran across some impressive cattle too. One path took us through a farmer's field and the cattle were some breed I had never seen before with long horns that extended to each side. I worked around cattle plenty as a kid, but just holsteins and herefords, nothing like these beasties. They didn't give us a problem but I kind of wondered whether I took a risk I wasn't aware of there.

We did get charged by a ewe when my wife accidentally came between a ewe and her lamb. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" /> She did back down before I got to find out what happens when an american tourist murders a swiss farm animal (I assume nothing good!) but my wife actually jumped behind my back when the ewe started fake charging me. Kind of funny for all the time we have spent in bear country we almost got taken out by a sheep.

A day hike today. Beautiful weather but the snow line is quite low and my companion wasn't up for going quite that high yet!

Instead a walk through smaller foothills!

Rounded off with an ice cream! Hope you enjoyed.
