Thanks for the comparison pics. I like the 4 to 5 inch range also. I really like the War Dog. I believe it will be a classic. I also have the ESEE 4. It was my first survival knife.

I only have two, well three Bussekin knives. An RMD and two War Dogs. I can't decide which I like better, as they are both stellar!

I've been on the fence about one for awhile now but don't want to spend when something from the yard is right around the coner .

You absolutely CAN NOT go wrong in getting a Ratmandu. I use it , my Satin Jack, and my S5 more than anything else I own. It is a great blade. All are just the right size for my use.

stjones, I love the crash ax! How long is the handle on that sucker? More of a large hatchet or small ax?
Here's is the promised pic DT,

Absolutely agree; substitute the F1 for your H1 and I have four of the five myself (along with a Bark River Gunny and Bravo1, among others, in the same size range).

For those dogs that feel they need some more Busse kin steel right away, the Ratmandu is back in the Swamp Rat store.

For those dogs who haven't spent much time at the swamp, know that the RMD is an amazing knife: size, shape, balance, steel, feel in the hand. The moment I first picked one up I had the thought: this is a perfect knife. I still feel that way. Grab one while you can.

I was at the swamp rat store four times tonight and the only thing that held my order was the color choice, the picture of them makes it hard to make out the colors. Anyone have better pictures of the different ones? Of course Dan could stop me from ordering by giving us some news on the next release

RMD Colors
in that thread, swampmaster eric says:
Quote
While we have never made an announcement of such the RMD is semi permanent, at least for a while. We have had them in stock (except for a few exceptions, like now) for about 6-8 months, IIRC.

While they are out of stock now you can email me and I will add you to the list and let you know when more arrive. I have more coming later in the month, just ran out while the shop is finishing up blades for the Big Blade Show. [Wink]

Unless something drastically changes the RMD will be around for quite a while longer, it is one that I intend to continue to keep in stock as much as possible on a fulltime basis.
