I have a Work Sharp and it is excellent.Simple to use and good results. I did about thirty knives right when I got it, kitchen, hunting and some big Cold Steel kukris and machetes. It does the tips fine, you just need a little practice on a cheap knife to master the technique.
Awesome! That seals the deal for me! I think I'm going to get one.

I had one for a short time and did not care for it as I never got the tips down with it. Something about a rounded off tip on blades. Now for lawnmower blades I did like it.

How long do the belts last?

The original belts still cut after doing all these. Replacements cost $0.57 each

Before, nearly useless

After, hair popping convex

Three machetes, two kukris and a 'hawk

Very cool <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

What about what others are saying about it not giving a good tip?

Stop each pass in the middle of the belt and raise it straight up off the sharpener if using a guide. I use it freehand alot, that works great too.

Just got one the other day. It is SUPER easy to use. Correction, it is UBER-easy to use. Is that even a friggin word? Who cares. For the money, this thing rocks.
