Restocked OTC meds in my Pocket First Aid Kit.

I started carrying a pocket FAK a few weeks ago. Nothing really earth shattering, Just some aspirin, Ibuprofen, Claritin D, Benedryl, Immodium and some Zofran (REALLY good anti-nausea medicine) for Patty. I also have some bandages, 2x2 inch gause, germ-X wipes. I also have a SAK classic in it now along with 3 PCB and my ferro rod that DT made for me.

It amazes me how much of the stuff I have used. Mostly the meds, but also the Knife (scissors and tweezers mostly) AND the cottonballs and ferro rod once.

I have it all inside a metal (hinged lid) metal soap container that has a size of 3.75 X 2.75 X 1.25. It fits in my pocket pretty well.

If you don't carry anything like this, start carrying a few items and you will be surprised at how much you will find a "Need" for it.

I'm working out four to five days a week swimming at least two miles everyday with some wt. training. I am looking at taking two exams that will keep my existing IT skills sharp and break me into the security arena. This year is my year to challenge myself physically and mentally.

I made up some meal packs. Similar to an MRE but you have to cook the main meal. I used a foodsaver/seal a meal and put several differnt meals that can be boiled like broccoli and rice or noodles and sauce. Then each one has a pack of oatmeal, a granola bar, 1 pack yogurt raisens, 2 packets of peanut butter , a pack of coco and a package of cider drink. I vacumed sealed them. All you have to do for the main meal is dump the contents into the seal a meal bag add water and boil it in your mess kit. No cleanup of your mess kit because you boil it in the bag and you can eat it from there.

Each one is about 1,600 Calories if you eat everything and 40 grams of protein.

I am debating something else to bump the calories up to around 2,000. All of it will last for a couple years being vacum packed. I thinking this will be the ticket for hiking and ATV camping trips. The pack is a bit smaller than an MRE.

I chewed the center out of many insurgent paper targets at lunch. The supply chief needed help DRMO'ing (Defense Reutilization and Marketing Of ... simply put, getting rid of) so stuff at Hill Air Force Base. While at the pound, I saw a few pallets of stuff that didn't have paper work. I asked if I could rummage, and the bossman said get to it. 30 minutes later = A measuring wheel that I will use to place targets in the wild - 5 ammo cans in various sizes in immaculate condition, another indicator I was on an Air Force Base, they are much more civilized than us, - lastly, a carbon fiber telescopic pole. I have no idea what it is for, but it is very light, strong (I tried to snap it with the help of the gunny) and the locks where it telescopes are made of some kind of high grade aluminum. Collapsed: about 3 feet. Extended; about 13 feet. I'll find a use for it.

After work, I hit the wieghts for 1 hour then ran for one hour up and down the hills of the Wasatch Ridgeline.

Sounds like you had a good day JJ. I LOVED DRMO office, and the "Unmarked pallets" didn't last very long, at least the good stuff didn't! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

Checked out a site that has some 2mm braided line that the manufacturer says is 1000 pound test! Comes in 50 foot hanks. I think that I am going to order some.

Been doing a mile a day on the treadmill. Yeah I know it's not much, but we're just starting. I have increased the speed and incline. One day I did a 3.5 speed and an incline of 3.5. I Was tired!

Anyway, working in trying to get the mile time down and increase of the incline. Today I averaged a 2.7.
