I am looking at .22lr revolvers and pistols for BOB. I would like the revolver to shoot 22lr and 22mag and if it is a semi I would like it to have a 4.5 to 6 inch barrel. Any recommendations guys?

Browning Buckmark...people will say Ruger Mk whteverer, and they are fine, but not as user-friendly IMO as the Buckmark. For revolver, I think the single six (ruger) comes with both cylinders, but could be wrong.

I have a buck mark and I love it. No experience with the rugers though.

Taurus has a new combo double action revolver. Or if you can find the Kel Tec 22mag semi auto .

Can't go wrong with a Buckmark or a Ruger. I have a Ruger Mark III 22/45 and have fired hundreds of rounds through a buddies Buckmark. Both are great pistols, but like damon said, the Buckmark is more user friendly. I find that is negated once you spend some time learning the uger though.

Revolvers - Ruger all the way.

I used to work with a guy who had a single six and it was a great gun. I also like that it will shoot .22 short, long rifle and mags. The Browning is also a fun gun to shoot. I noticed Sig had a 22 that can be converted to 9mm later. And there are some nice looking 1911 .22lr guns

Another Buckmark vote. If you have to go revolver go Ruger. The mk whatever Rugers are good too though.

They are not cheap but they are nice....

S&W M41 ...that one is a 1968 model that has consumed 10s of thousands of rounds and still shoots better than I can dream of...

I also have a Colt Officer Model Match revolver that is built like a tank and shoots like a rifle...

Don't fear buying an "old" .22. It is very hard to wear them out and even one that is not "pretty" can be mechanically sound and provide you a very cheap entrance.

I picked this up used about a month ago and made the kydex and added the red dot.
It's the MKll, which still allows you to fire as a single shot if you lose your clips.
The MKlll's do not allow this.

If I hadn't run across this I had been leaning towards the Buck Mark.
