Not having used a machete all that much, I defer to the wisdom of those that have. I THINK that the consensus of those that use machete's in they jobs say that it is VERY much preferred to have a handle that allows your hand to slide just a bit on the handle. I DO know after using the CS magnum Kukri in the machete mode, it will eat your hand up in no time! But that may just be do to the hard plastic of the handle material.

My B11 is my go to chopper and best all around "bushwacker." I have a BWM also but it's been replaced by the B11. I've used the rucki and with some reprofiling it does well as a machete for woody stuff but doesn't work well on tall thin grasses. I think 'ragingrhino' has a short write up on his rucki that he took out to the jungle with him.

I'd go for a Scrapchete if Dan were to make one!
Right now, my B-11 fills the role of a Machete rather well. It's very quick in the hands and a good length. Of course, I don't go camping in the Jungle normally. If I did, I would definitely want to carry a true machete.

Not jungles, but the woods in NVA get really thick. LOTS of tick-infested underbrush--and that's just what I see looking out the back window!

Maybe we dogs need a release of scrapyard tweezers for tick removal <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" />
