Remington bought marlin!? I didn't know this. During my reading up on them I remember they had been bought out but not who. I also heard there were more QC issues as well so a well preserved used one in not out of the realm of possibility if need be.

rlacan, IF POSSIBLE go to a firing range/gun shop and see if they have any of the guns you are looking at for rent to shoot. THAT way you will already know how you like or don't like a particular weapon before you pay for it. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

Yes, and I've also heard that quality isn't what it was. I'm happy with my purchase, though. No issues.

Funny thing Is Im broke as [censored]....knives.

That being said id sell a few foe some decent guns.

 In a heartbeat.

It seems Ive become somthing of sa knife collecter. Started out looking for a camping knife since I was gonna try and do a little camping. Stumbled onto knifetests...then stumbled into a few grand woth of knives...most of which I will just look at and drool on like a retard.

Might be time to sell most of these off and get real.

Keep 2 or 3 and send the rest to new homes.

If you prefer the blue then chose that one. I'm not convinced the sights on the stainless are any better. My guess is the opposite.

And as for uses... to be honest, Im not looking for any kind of self defense. That and If I brought a gun into the house with our 3yo it would start ww3.
My plan atm is to get the .22Lr

My wife has told me that back when she was younger and single she loved to go shooting. My first step is to get her back to the range to re-kindle things.

Then ill take it from there.

That and my neighborhood so far knock on wood has been nice. Im not being naive and know anything can happen anywhere.

But I have good spidey sense and the whole place is a huge condo community. Lights everywhere and 95 percent of the population is 65 plus. Im not fearing any old timers and young guys walkin around at night arouse suspision.
Now this is only my opinion My daughters were taught firearm safety rules while they were still in diapers, when they were young they helped me clean the guns and they knew any time they wanted to see them they just had to ask I never let there be any mystery around them I also locked up the guns and ammo up separately Even with toy guns they always had to follow safe firearms handling rules Good points. But first I will work on wifey getting back to shooting...then Ill introduce said advice in your thread. Even if you never buy a firearm please teach your kids firearm safety. You can't be with them all the time, my daughter was still in elementary school, while at a friends house playing one of the kids came out with his dad's rifle and started to play with it. Angie knew what to do and got an adult right away.

Weapons are here to stay, whether they are guns, knives or baseball bats. Teach kids to be RESPONSIBLE with them and your worries will be lessened at least a bit.
