dad caught a crappy that must have been well over 3. wouldn't fit in the biggest fry pan we had. Good eatin!

that's a big fish!
my cousin mentioned us all taking a trip and doing some deep sea fishing. i'm game but don't have the slightest idea what to expect.
one fish i do want to go after is red snapper.

I remember dad catching a walleye once on a crappie jig w/4lb test line. It was 35 inches long, and I forget how much it weighed. I remember all 5 of us ate off that one fish and there were plenty of leftovers!

one fish i do want to go after is red snapper. hooked into a blue marlin once. it broke water and the captain estimated it at 450. 1st mate decided he needed to "show me" how to reel it in so he grabbed the rod from me and promptly lost the fish. Could've killed him....

didn't weigh them but I'm guessing biggest I've kept was 3 pound range. the gar was maybe 4-5. but only been fishing since last june.
