One can only wonder...when Dan comes up with a design that is getting such stellar reviews, why would it only be available for such a limited time? I bet he could sell millions of em. Shouldn't it get perm/semi-perm status like the all-time classic RMD over at Swamp Rat?
Of course, this speculation comes from a person with zero knowledge of the knife making biz.

Man I wish my 1311 would show up. I got a notice this week but this is the first time that it has taken longer to get the blade than the notice.

Plus Dan brought this out as a special for Yard members, inspired by a sip and chat. I have great respect for Dan limiting this sale and sticking to his word. And it seems Bussekin follows the old adage "leave them hungry and they will keep coming back for more".

Just got the email. Last day is November 2! "... removed after 9:00 pm eastern time." I lucked out and was able to free up some space on the cc and ordered one ten minutes ago. My wife told me when it gets here I have to give it to her so she can wrap it for Christmas Best Christmas gift ever! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> And it "might" just make it there in time! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> Well that might be better than it arriving next week and me having to give it to my wife to wrap up and put away until Christmas I know that is going to kill me LOL

I wasn't questioning Dan's business model and am offended by this insinuation. I ordered pretty quickly and am good to go. I've been a loyal customer of Dan's for a few years now and I was just curious as to why certain decisions are made since I know nothing about his line of work. I was hoping he could provide a little insight, that is all.
