Just got a couple of my MOADs a few days ago and I couldn't be more psyched!! This thing is a monster and is everything I could ask for and more. It has tremendous power for chopping, yet is nimble enough for de-limbing and trail clearing. It is massive, but by no means unwieldy and the balance point is perfection. The 1311 is a Hybrid that excels at the tasks it was made for - chopping and machete work. Since it's rainy here and I live in the city without any vegetation, I didn't get too much of an opportunity to test it out. I did get the chance to take a few fallen limbs and chopped them up. My first swing was at a branch approximately 2" in diameter and the MOAD destroyed it in one fell swoop. After that, I chopped a few bigger branches and the MOAD blew away my expectations. I can't wait to get out into the woods and bash this beast some more! The B-11 is still a fantastic blade and I will definitely keep using it; it is INFI after all, which means a lot when you may not be able to sharpen the blade for a while. The Dogfather(s) will be the blades I carry when something shorter is more comfortable and appropriate and when I need more of a chopper rather than a hybrid. I will have to do some comparisons because the Dogfather with a good edge is a monster chopper due to its heft. I think all three blades have their strengths and will all see use based on the scenario. Below are some obligatory pictures of my favorite Res-C choppers: ![[Linked Image from img43.imageshack.us]](http://img43.imageshack.us/img43/8558/imagegwc.jpg) ![[Linked Image from img641.imageshack.us]](http://img641.imageshack.us/img641/3417/imagecobe.jpg) ![[Linked Image from img7.imageshack.us]](http://img7.imageshack.us/img7/908/imagekkcy.jpg) ![[Linked Image from img40.imageshack.us]](http://img40.imageshack.us/img40/9308/imageobl.jpg)

I got bored of not being able to make it out into the woods, so I took my nieces favorite skateboard (tinker bell) for become MOAD food. What can I say? You've got to feed the monster. (Read the footnote if you think I'm a terrible person.) I didn't anchor the skateboard down, so it moved around a lot while I was demolishing it. After I got a decent way in, it was too hard to use proper chopping technique and angle my chops, so I had to chop straight down mostly from that point on. The MOAD bites DEEP. I'd say with my best chop, I was getting the blade around 80% into the wood. Here's a picture of the skateboard after the MOAD got its full. Problem is, that was yesterday and the MOAD is getting hungry again. What am I to do? This thing has a tremendous appetite for destruction. ![[Linked Image from img267.imageshack.us]](http://img267.imageshack.us/img267/7716/imageyyua.jpg) It bites DEEP (I got it to bite even deeper before) ![[Linked Image from img6.imageshack.us]](http://img6.imageshack.us/img6/3431/imagejiek.jpg) Footnote: I found this skateboard randomly not far from the dumpsters at my apartment a little while ago. It was already broken and I took it as a gag gift for a friend who happens to think Tinker Bell is the best Disney character. It is definitely NOT my nieces, not would I ever be so cruel to any of my lovely nieces or nephews.

Wood is wood, even if it is tinker bell merchandise. Well done improvising chopping material. very cool comparison pics. From the spine shot, it looks like the 1311 is leaning towards .200 in thickness. Could just be the pic tho.....thanks for sharing!

Yeah, I think it's just the angle showing a bit of the side of the blade. It was hard to get them all parallel and straight. If you look real hard, you can kind of see how the spine is a bit lighter than the side of the blade & shadow that got caught in the picture, if that makes any sense.

I forgot to add - THANK YOU DAN for designing this beast and releasing it at an amazing price with the option to have our JYD numbers etched onto the blade. What more could a dog ask for!?
When I get a new blade, I usually will fondle it for a while and go back and forth on whether it should be a user or not. With the 1311, I took the one with my JYD number on it and immediately started destroying things with it. That blade is all mine and will be until my grandchildren learn to chop and I am an old geezer puttering around on a scooter (I'll probably never get there anyways.) Private Klink, just remember that I'm one of your grandchildren when you get there .
Thank you Renee and Alan and everyone else that had a hand in making the MOAD a reality.
