Hey guys,
What are your thoughts on the Ratweiler vs. 911? I'd like to hear from users and owners of both. I'm looking to add a chopper to my collection, but it will also double as a camp blade. I reckon that both are outstanding, what can you tell me about the pros and cons of either?
If you want to reference any other blades in this role, feel free. I'm confused enough, a little more can't hurt <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" />

To my thinking, I'd much rather have the 911 for a number of reasons.....
-Less weight overall -More blade heavy -Res-c handle -Less money
I know the Ratweiler is quite popular, but I've never handled one myself so maybe there is something about it that I am missing?

I've heard that the Ratweiler can keep up with and even out perform larger knives, but I'd like to hear a direct comparison.
The res-c is a draw as well as the extra 2 or so inches of blade length.
Ratweiler weighs in at 19 oz. Can't seem to find the weight on the 911.
Not sure what price point the Anniversary CG Ratweiler will be, but I see the original pricing was around $180

The dogfather weighs 20.1oz so the 911 is probably a few oz lighter. 18 maybe 19oz. The 1311 is also 19oz

The Ratweiler is a great camp knife and chopper, but the longer blade of the 911 has the advantage in chopping. I have used them both, but never had them at the same time to compare.
Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

Since I got my Chopweiler I've never wanted any other camp/chopper, this is the only time this has ever happened as I have multiples of all my other knife sizes.....hope that speaks volumes for how good the Chopweiler is.

I have a Ratweiler and a Battle Rat and all I can say is get BOTH!!!! I know this is over said but there both that nice. Also if winter camping the 911 will be better do to the warmth of Res-c and ability to chop and split bigger logs.

awesome post, thanks for the link. lots of good data there. looks like the Battle Rat is very similar to the 911. good comparison. I have a TAZ Rat if I could only have one it would be the TAZ. If it is for Yard work or extended chopping I would want some res-c. If its a survival, B.O.B, or "only one" the full Tang Taz gets it.
I will probably get an anniversary blade depending on cost, though they probably wont have the DHT.
