I have the work sharp and really like it just practice with some lesser blades before you hit the good stuff. congrats on 24 k.

I've got a Spyderco Sharpmaker and it does ok, but it takes a while and reprofiling is about impossible.

You can always take the guide off and use it like a hand belt sander. the book suggests that for axes mower blades and such.

I have the sharp maker also but it is more for finishing work than re profiling.
