That's why I've always shied away from  wool shirts.  Can't stand itching.

Wool keeps you warm also when wet.THAT I knew,and is my main reason for wanting it.  Feet sweat and the wool I think wicks the moisture away from our feet and as you said, will keep things warm even when damp/wet.

Merino wool won´t tickle, that´s why I use merino wool shirts when hunting etc. outdoor activities.

Plus it doesn't really get THAT cold here.  Maybe for a couple weeks out of the winter.

Plus it doesn't really get THAT cold here.  Maybe for a couple weeks out of the winter.  Pretty much the same here, but think "Caught out in a snow filled ditch in your vehicle that won't start" Oh for minimum of 8 hours.
