Yeah, that's what DT said. He recommended (Clothing anyway) 65 to 100 percent wool.

Wool keeps you warm also when wet. THAT I knew,and is my main reason for wanting it. Feet sweat and the wool I think wicks the moisture away from our feet and as you said, will keep things warm even when damp/wet.

Merino wool won´t tickle, that´s why I use merino wool shirts when hunting etc. outdoor activities.

Plus it doesn't really get THAT cold here. Maybe for a couple weeks out of the winter.
