I'm actually going to my dads this weekend to help him setup a backstop. I will probably shoot some but I only have like 50 yard to work with at his place. I will definitely try to get a pic of a group next time I have a chance because I'm curious to see how it does also.

For anyone who is interested...

This is a VEPR which is Russian and it is built on an RPK receiver. Based on what I have read it is supposed to be one of the more accurate AKs. I have only fired it once and I was just shooting junk out in a field so I didn't get to really test the accuracy.
Sweet!
Yeah let us know how it feels/shoots.. write up a big long story about it!

I was thinkin about getting back into one of those myself.
How much does it weigh? (w/out magazine)

i *really* regret selling my SKS (Russian, forged receiver).. it was a Beaut compared to some friends' chinese & yugoslav built SKS's.. i mean they all "worked" but Mine was better
i Abused the Heck outta mine, left uncleaned for Months at a time, fed it the Cheapest surplus fodder i could find, it NEVER jammed on me!
..i was gonna sporterize it.. but then sold it ::oh regrets!::

Anyways congrats on yours! Enjoy!

the vepr is one of my favorite rifles. probably my first choice if the dolphins came out of the sea and were really pissed at us for the whole mercury poisoning thing. i'll never get one here in nj, though.

That is a sweet AK, better than my Norinco POS. I need one, years ago my local gun shop used to carry green tracers. Sooo-weet!!!

I will have to do a range report after the next time I shoot it. Thanks for the compliments guys.

tony22r: I'm not sure how much it weights but it’s definitely heavier than my M4 profile 16 inch barreled AR. The Vepr has a heavy barrel and the front hand guard is heavy and the reciver is heavier than a standard AK so…
