Lucky men with the tolerant wives. Mine has been footing a good amount of our bills since I'm a teacher and don't make squat! Therefore, her patience for my knife purchases has run thin.

I am a teacher too, so I know waht you are talking about. My wife works in the special ed dept as a para so we don't make a lot but at least we have jobs right now. I generally get to keep some of my coaching stipends (not going to call it pay when you figure it is less than a buck an hour with all the hrs and weekends that I give up).

BTW, what do you teach? I teach his US History, World History, and a Street Law senior survey course.

Kudos to you and your wife. I have a lot of respect for anyone who devotes themselves to this or any other public service profession.

I currently teach Social Studies in a low income middle school. The kids are great, they have just been raised or exposed to a lot of things they shouldn't have. Drugs, abuse, and lack of parental figures are very common. But that is why I am there. I like to provide a positive influence and mentor to them. Don't get me wrong, the kids are moody and unpredictable at that age. But with time they see I am fair, regardless of the student. My passion is history...like yours, but I am endorsed in Science and English for when jobs get tight.

School ends early June, so they are starting to get the summer itch!

I taught school for one year out of college. Clearly it takes a special kind of person...kudos' to all of you

Nice, always good to hear about people who put forth time in the teaching profession. Good for you man. I love teaching, but I'm the type of guy who likes to switch it up. So in another ten or fifteen years I'll be shooting for a park ranger position.....that is if I can ever get my wife to move out of Illinois!

Back to the SS5....it is a thing of beauty. I like all others on this forum cannot wait for it's release!
