Correct me if I'm wrong, but a steri-pen will only take care of biological contaminants, right?
So you would still need a carbon filter to take care of chemical contaminants.
I can see chem contaminants in an urban environment or SHTF, but just hiking you should only need to worry about bio cons IINM.
