Seriously, hopefully your health is doing somewhat better. Patty has 3 appointments coming up in St Louis this next week. SO FAR the new meds they gave her are doing well for her Gastro problems.

Thanks Randy. Yeah, I've been doing surprisingly much better the past couple weeks. Pain is down and I'm sleeping a bit more restfully than I have in years.

I'll keep you and Patty in my prayers!

Well today will be a good day to test out your home made Faraday Cage. That obnoxious sounding emergency test for ALL communications is due today starting about 2:20 pm.

Morning Yard!

It's finally cool enough to have no possible need for air conditioning. We use portable floor air conditioners. One bonus is they can also be used as a dehumidifier. Plus through the process if I don't run the vent, they heat the area up from the typical 57 degrees that it hovers around most of the year.

I moved two into our finished basement. I have been getting gallons of water a day out of there. Frankly I'm surprised by just how humid it really was/is down there. There are no apparent leaks. But cool and dark holds moisture well.

I plan on drying it out as much as possible and then hitting it periodically to keep up. My wife stores photos in her room downstairs and my safe and sporting goods are in another. I try to keep parts of my room at about 50% humidity. It's been a challenge this year.

I think it was super humid this spring and we had a glut of rain and flooding and a little water came into a room through intact concrete. Even though we dried the carpet and oad, I'm betting concrete retained that moisture and likely a little is holding in the drywall just from ambient humidity in the air. Hopefully I can get that out of there over the winter.

We run a dehumidifier year round in the basement. I have it run directly into the floor drain. Got tired of dumping 3 gallons every couple days. Dedicated dehumidifiers are much cheaper than AC units as be run for years 24/7.

Thank you for the prayers Joshua. And even though I haven’t addressed you personally here or email you are often in my prayers. I know you have serious medical problems and now with Patty and I (my back is gettin progressively worse) I think of all us “older folk” more. I use a 5 foot “staff” for walking now cause I’ve fallen 5 times since last summer, and the stick allows me to stay more upright than with a cane.

Josh, I run a dehumidifier year-round in the basement as well. It's like a combined grocery / sporting goods store down there and I store my leather for sheath making as well. I cut down my knife buying and thus sheath making, and it's more difficult with the arthritis in my hands. However, since I had my knees replaced I'm getting around MUCH better, and we're getting ready to visit the Alamo for a vacation trip.

Randy, I appreciate the prayers. Though I'm not here as often as I like, I think of everyone here frequently.

Tom, sounds like our basements are kinda similar.... though I'm no leather worker. The best leather I have down there came from you wink

Arthritis sucks. Bad backs suck. Bad knees suck. I feel your guys' pain wink

Evenin dogs. Just made our 3 nights hotel reservation for Patty’s upcoming tests next week in St Louis. I don’t like big city’s, but at least we’ll be staying in a better part of town.
