Ray, I may get your help in the future. The Technician license looks pretty simple to get. Right now I’m just trying to figure out how to program the radios and how to use the Chirp software. I’m sure there is a forum out there for it.

Todd, in my Peterson's Hunting magazine they said that North Carolina is one of the best bets for BIG black bears. Have you ever bear hunted ?

Todd, there is a lot of info on YouTube about how to program Baofeng and other radios using Chirp. It is not hard to use and much easier than inputting info using the keypad on the radio.

No, there’s some bear hunting around here but the big boys live down on the coast. I’ve got relatives down there that own a bunch of land and they’ve invited me, but I’ve never cared for it. Matter of fact, we have one that visits our house pretty regularly and is almost friendly. Almost.

Yeah, I’ve been watching those and studying for the test. It’s almost like school again.

I used to be a reenactor and have been interested in early American history since I was a child. I ran across a YouTube channel from Randy and Tom’s neck of the woods-Sainte Genevieve, Missouri. Their focus is mainly on early 19th century cooking and recipes. Cooking is about all I can do these days and the channel is interesting (to me anyways.) I thought about making a joke that I was surprised to see such good content coming out of Missouri compared to what I usually see but I decided not to.
