I got my surefire E2L yeaterday, ma the sucked it bright.
I have a few surefire lights and they are very high quality flashlights! I hope they make a AA battery version sometime in the near future. Those CR123 can get pretty pricey if you play with your lights all the time <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />

Bladeforums is back up, but my ISP's DNS server hasn't caught up with the new IP address yet. It was driving me nuts, so eventually I edited my WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\HOSTS file (adding the line: 216.26.177.84 www.bladeforums.com below my localhost entry. I'll remove it in a few days, but for now the bladeforums URL resolves correctly.

I don't have actual Mac experience, but I did a search and if you're on Mac OS X, it appears you need to add the entry to /etc/hosts (uses BSD-style Hosts file). The search terms I used were:
modify hosts file mac
I hope that helps (or helps you find the answer anyway).

I bought two batteries and the charger which has a hook up for auto also. Charges in an hour and saves on those batteries. You also purchase an extender for your flashlight as the battery pack is a bit longer. I think I like it- but still testing. I am looking at surefire LEDs and wondering about advantages. Hope this helps a bit-Thanks

Just took a dremmel sander drum to the uncomfortable checkering on my CS Kukri today...what an amazing improvement! Northern 1 mentioned he had done this to his a while back...been meaning to try it myself ever since...if you read this Northern...thanks for the tip!

I was thinking about picking me up a Fenix light for the very reason of being able to use AA batteries. So far, I've heard nothing but good things about Fenix...except they aren't made in the USA. What the heck is taking Surefire so long developing a AA LED light!?

You know how you talk to someone who isn't into your hobby or area of expertise and you ask them a simple question, like, "What engine do you have in your Mustang?" or "That's a great picture of Bigfoot, what lens did you use?" and their response to either question is, "A big one. I'm not sure exactly." This has always driven me nuts. How can you spend money on something and not know what it is? It just always strikes me as a lack of interest. Well, I just bought a Swamp Rat knife from a forum member and for the life of me, I can't remember which model it is. It's a big one though. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> This is usually an indicator to me that I've really lost interest in that particular field. It's kinda like when I was taking photos of some of my guns and I found a Sig that I didn't remember having bought. It was still in the original packaging and obviously never fired. With that said I think I'm done with knives for awhile. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> I have other areas of interest coming to the fore now. I'll still be hanging out here and some of the other forums, but I doubt I'll be buying many more knives. Thanks for listening to this long meaningless rant. The finish show many battle scars but the light is still perfectly functional. I would say that it is a good buy for half of what surefire light usually cost. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Tedwca, I know where you're coming from on this. For me, that moment occurred right before I was to go for my black belt test in Jiujitsu. I just lost interest, stopped going to class, and never went back. Over the last couple of months, I've let an old friend talk me into going out to Kenpo classes, and have discovered to my delight, that I really like the art. Perhaps you are just in burn out stage and need a rest. ...This is usually an indicator to me that I've really lost interest in that particular field.
