I started going out with her right when she started college. She Double majored in botany and Renaissance art history. Of course, I had to tag along and do the same, to be with her. So I ended up gettin' edjumacated in biology and art history.

So, I stumbled into nature photography. What else was I going to do with that background?

Don't recommend it. Lots of stress, not much time off.
I have a friend who is a nature cameraman for the Discovery channel.
He's an avid outdoors type, and he has gone all over the world shooting
shows for them.
The last time I chatted with him, he'd just gotten back from Antarctica.
Now that's a great job to have!!!

I came very, very close to making software engineering my profession. Very close.

If it wasn't for a strange series of coincidental events that occurred immediately after I decided to become a software engineer, which pushed me into professional nature photography, I'd be a software engineer, today.

Software engineers are hot, too.

I fell into it by accident. Was doing something entirely different, and the
next thing I know, I'm a Network Admin for a Database company.
It's been fun and I've learned a lot.
Doubt I could ever be a photographer. Don't have the artistic comprehension.

I was drawing, painting, sculpting, writing poetry and prose for my whole life. So the art skills transferred very naturally. I also hd enjoyed the outdoors my whole life, so those skills transferred, too.

Just goes to show that even the oldest dawgs need help sometime!!!

This was my first people-picture. I now shoot people for money, too... so I guess she influenced that part of my job, too.
