I'm going to preface this post by saying that the pictures aren't up to what I like but I wanted to show something...

Anyway:

I got my second Scrap Yard today! A second DCDM that I got for my wife! She absolutely loves it and it is her first real type of knife, ever! She's never had a knife. She thought it was "So cool" and she was 100% surprised.

This DCDM is a sister to mine - pictured on top:

A second, close-up:

Now to the "point" of the post. If you look closely, the two knives have different grinds and shape at the sweep of the knife. Understand this - I AM NOT COMPLAINING! I think it's cool that the knives have two different shapes. Length and handling are exactly the same.

Take a closer look:

My wife ended up liking the bottom knife with the "pointy-er" sweep and tip - so, I let her have it (the one I posted as my My First Scrap Yard )

The top one is now mine. I think it's cool - almost like two different knives but the same <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
Maybe I'll have to find a third for comparison - I can always say it's for my son when he grows up. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

I'll get some better pics up of these two Mutts when I can get outside and get some good light. Again, sorry about the poor quality pics.

My wife is excited about it and wants to learn some knife skills and we have to get her a sheath.

that almost looks a little too drastic...
might be a lookover.
but if you like i t, I'd say keep it!

Cool stuff! Neat to see the differences that come from hand grinding knives. I like the bottom one myself. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /><img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

Congrats!

But be careful....once she gets the knife bug none of your knives are safe!!!

For proof I offer this.

Q: How many Kershaw knives has Heavy bought?

A: Near about 10.

Q: How many does Heavy own?

A: Zero.

Where pray tell are all the Kershaws?

You figure it out....

I think I really do too, but if it's the one she likes, she can have it. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Besides, I can always "borrow" it... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />

Although Heavy, using Kershaws as bait knives while you sneak the Infi in the door sounds like a good plan... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

Ha! I'm sorry for you.

She's getting interested in hiking/camping and other things so I can support her and it will be cool for all of us to go out together. My son is 3 1/2 and just needs to get a little bigger but I have found a place where we are going to start out.

It is exciting.
