I wonder how many people look around and notice all the weapons at hand, not including the obvious like firearms, knives, etc? I am always amused when at a sporting event or the airport when security checks are being done that some of the most common items can be used as a weapon. I am a true believer that neccessity is the mother of all inventions and Darwin's Survival of the Fittest and when combined it can make a good combo.

Just a thought.

No kidding......... first time I figured this out was in a grade school fight. Back in those days it was " supposed" to be just fist fighting. This dude kicked- bit me- hit me with a trash can- jabbed me with a stick and threw something like a brick at me !! In other words- many weapons. My buddies wife is like that- when they get into it you best duck cause she uses EVERYTHING. Yes- many weapons and airport security takes a pair of nail clippers from you - Go figure

When I was taking Jiujitsu, improvised weapons were always part of my gradings,
and were stressed in almost every class that was taught. My instructor was an
unarmed combat and small weapons instructor in the Canadian Armed Forces, and
also a 7th degree BB in Jiujitsu.
It's surprising what damage a hot cup of coffee or the edge of a credit card
can do. In fact, a guy here was just charged with aggravated assault for throwing
a cup of coffee into someone's face. Saw it in the newspaper the other day.

My favorite demonstration was when he would take a large naval orange and slice
it up with a bank card.

Cheers?

Those bank and credit cards can be very sharp. You could probably cut skin easliy with one with enough pressure.

Yep. Have foolishly done that

I can remember sitting at a small table, with a credit card, a 6 inch piece of
string, a pen, a cup of water and a rubber eraser. The test was to produce and
demonstrate on a "willing" partner, as many improvised weapons as possible within
a one minute time limit.

I was able to come up with and demonstrate 8 improvised tools.

Also the improvised use of the pen during the fight at the Paris apartment in
the first Bourne movie.
Also the use of the rolled up magazine in condo fight during the second Bourne.

I've always been bad at that, I've always figured nothing could be worse than a double eye gouge or head stomping, or both.
