What would everyone suggest as a good EDC fixed blade?

I'm really considering carrying fixed all the time.

With the changing knife laws, that may be the way to go, but I have yet to find any fixed blade as practical for everyday use as a good folder. I use my Rat Trap every day.

I love my folder, but I was thinking the same thing.

I'm not sure though, I got my concealed carry permit but don't carry all the time because my gun is just too big to carry on my belt. It's in my Maxped when I carry it.

I'm afraid a good fixed blade will be the same. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/banghead.gif" alt="" />

I'll figure it out. Just curious what others do.

A good 4.5" - 5.25" fixed blade for me is generally more convenient to access than my folder unless I have to put on a tool belt. Then it's in the way.

S5,S5,S5,S5,S5,S5,S5,S5 would be a good choice. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

S5 is a bit big for an EDC around here (in the city). Something more in the 3" size would be more appropriate, IMHO.

The fixed blade I most often carry lately is my Bird Dog in kydex.

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

I watched Crocodile Dundee plenty of times. NO knife is too big ANYWHERE.

Of course I think everyone should carry guns and katanas at all times. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Well, just got back from my girlfriend's house. Her dog died tonight.

The [censored] thing was blind, deaf, and like 25 years old, but she loved it.

Enjoy every sandwich.

On a lighter note, I will be heading out of here at 4 AM to take the Queen Mary out of Point Pleasant, NJ, for some deep sea Blue fishing.

I haven't gone in a while, and I'm pretty stoked.

I don't think I can fall asleep now, it's only 10...ugh.

Enjoy every sandwich.

Sorry to hear about the girlfriend's dog, Peasy - I have three dogs myself and I'll be majorly bummed when any of them goes.

I remember the good old days of fishing for blue's off the Jersey shore. We used to do the night trips, though - get on the boat around 6 pm, and fish all night. Those were good times.
