Yummy.

BTW, was anything done to the Sistema 1927? That is by far the best looking one I have ever seen.

The box was opened....

Well, that and new grip panels put on.

These are Sistemas from ~ 2001-2002, when you could still get them with finish on them.

Here's the one in the pix-

And here's it's brother-

Both were about 98-99% from the vendor (CDNN), but the first one is a bit prettier. $300 ea. shipped, IIRC.

Man, I should have paid better attention to the Argentine 1911's back then. All I ever saw around here was the beat to hell ones that looked like they had been left out in the weather before, during, and after the Falklands War.

A friend has a nice non-import Balistar Molina that was brought back from Argentina during the early 60's. Beautiful bluing and shot very little. IIRC, his father worked for a company that was contracted with the Argentine military and it was a gift. I have tried talking him out of it several times but no go.

Like steak and potatoes, wood and blue, is a classic combo and a perfect aesthetic match.

Nothing like the look of wood grain and blue.
Or the smell of burnt powder, linseed oil, gun oil and Hoppes.

Nice lookin' meal, and as always fine accoutrements for your table!!
