Only till more info!

Ashes to ashes, dust to dust, if you don't take it out and use it, it's going to rust.

The thickness lended itself to being a great splitter, I hope it's not thinned up to much.

That's what the saber grind is for, it just screams fighter to me.

The more I think about it, I think the thinner stock argument is more and more likely. At least I hope so. Thinner stock would make it a much more likely purchase for me. The tt version is still awesomer though

I was just guessing, but surely the 5/16" thick flat ground one had plenty of lateral strength. I can't imagine any need to go to a saber grind on that one. The saber grind looks great on the new blade.

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

The Test Team version LOOKED like a fighter, and I'm sure it would be mighty well suited for that task, but it performed like a phenomenal all around camp knife. A thin version is intriguing, but I really prefer just about anything other than a saber grind on my camp knives. And being SR101, I wouldnt want to strip and convex it, because it would have the same rust problem that made me sell the satin M9LE.

That actually brings me to another issue - the coating will wear very quickly on the transition from the flat to saber grind, and coating is a lot more important on an SR101 blade than it is many others.

I'm still curious how a saber ground Regulator will perform, but I have a hard time believing it will outperform the full flat ground TT version as an all around camp knife, and honestly that's where I use these sorts of blades.

I guess for putting in a safe or stabbing people, it might be better than the TT version - too bad I don't do much of either

I do love the look, but I am with the others on the guard, I wish that it was reinforced in some way. Maybe it has been and we cant see it?

Well, I am interested in seeing a price, some specs, and more on the improvements with reasoning on the change. I do like the looks of the older choil, and I was hoping there was going to be some reinforcement for the guard. Saber vs flat grind--well, we will see on that. Lastly, a LE version--just have to keep some extra wax around.
