Field sharpening? DMT diafold C/F I was an electrician for many years and I am guilty of using those ceramic v sharpeners! I know they are horrible for the blade. but when I was stripping wire all day I just needed the fastest sharp I could get. They kinda work but not great. I've tried rods , steels. I'm always looking for a better way to sharpen knives when your in the back 40. I rock a little V sharpener all the time when in the field. Anyone who tells you they are "bad for the blade" is retarded. What do they do to the metal that can't be undone? Nothing, but they do put a sharp edge on the edge in a hurry.

The V shaped carbide sharpeners bother me. I think it is probably the scarping sound the blade makes as it is drawn through the sharpener. I have used them before and at least the ones I used left a VERY broad edge. I know that's not how to explain it but the words fail me.

Haha, that makes twice now this week that I have seen reference to the CDC's NEW add about a ZOMBIE ATTACK! Now this is a REAL add, paid for by the U.S. Taxpayers. FINALLY the government is doing something right (but they are really trying to get us to prepare against THEM)! If they only knew!
