I've noticed Dan hasn't commented, I'm wondering if that's because it is too much work to set the machines up to do a Scandi grind or maybe just because he hates the idea, LOL !

Anyway I got to thinking today that if it's the first reason then how about a version out of 0.150" SR101 with a full height flat grind, this is the same stock thickness and grind as the Scrapivore which is described as a "cutter of the highest order "......sounds good enough to work as a Puukko eh !!!

Maybe it has something to do with the mudder grips. I see the 411 was only on the website for order for a short time, and some of the others have been on for months.

I still think the design is a winner.

I'm fairly new here, but haven't most runs with mudders been fairly short? Thats why I pounced on one asap haha

I can't see why Mudders would be any harder or more costly to produce than any of the other handles.

There were lots of Scrapper 5s made in many different color combos.

Maybe Dan grew dissatisfied with the 411 shortly after releasing it and pulled it from pre-order? Maybe he knows it needed to be choilless and is currently redesigning it?

I was rereading this and wondering if anyone has a Spyderco Bushcraft? My only experience with the scandi grind was a mora I had for about 10 minutes. I found it harder to do finer work with...seemed to bite the wood very deeply very quickly. That spydie keeps catching my eye- that handle looks super comfy.

I like how the Spyderco Puukko's bevel is larger than your typical Scandi, on their description they don't describe it as a Scandi grind instead saying it has a single straight bevel. Their Bushcrafter however is described as having a Scandi grind.

A Puukko can also be flat ground though as in the case of this one:

I can't see the Spyderco being any more comfy than a Yard version with Mudders !
