It's amazing what you'll add because you have room. I like a pack sized for your PREPLANNED gear list (keeps down gear creep) plus a little extra to stuff in a fleece jacket and polypros...which end up getting shed as you heat up.


That's my thinking, but I didn't want to run out of room before I had all "The Essentials".
