Ive never heard of any issues with the mags.

I dont think airguns builds have the same challenges as firearms. In fact it becomes a whole new set problems but the reasons to address them will be similar. For instance most firearm guys want to free float a firearm barrel to improve accuracy but on my disco air rifle I found I needed to add a second barrel band to see an improvement.
