No. As I understand it, here's how they rank with relationship to one another:

INFI: Wear resistance, 1st place. Corrosion resistance, 1st place. Toughness, tied for 1st.

SR101: Wear resistance, 2nd place. Corrosion resistance, 3rd place. Toughness, 3rd place.

SR77: Wear resistance, 3rd place. Corrosion resistance, 2nd place. Toughness, tied for 1st.

That makes INFI then really the wonder steel.

----

Yes, INFI is a wonder steel, but at a pretty high price relative to SR101 and SR77.

Generally speaking, INFI can be beaten by certain other steels in certain specific catagories, but as a package of characteristics for knife use, INFI is VERY hard to beat - except in one catagory - Price!

I feel you could EASILY still refer to SR101 and SR77 as wonder steels as well. There really are a lot of good steel choices for knives right now. To me, I will still argue that it mostly depends on the intended use of a knife, knife design and who heat treats and makes the knife.

SR101 and SR77 may rank slightly behind INFI in the mentioned catagories, but it is commonly believed that the differences are relatively small percentages.

So, at some point, the law of diminishing returns kicks in and you can start to justify SR101 and SR77 as being so good they are good enough. If you can accept such a concept as "good enough", then it is very easy to view SR101 and SR77 as a better bang for the buck. - My opinion.
