The main thing Dan or more importantly his grinder needs to remember is the knives need to be able to cut and chop wood. We all have better tools for concrete block abuse than our yard knives so why grind the edges thick to be concrete killers???

I can't see that a shallower grind would put the price up much- it seems to me the edges are put on with one or two passes of a coarse slack belt, so just thin out the angle a bit...
