I don't think it's an issue of being told how many knives we can buy. I think it's an issue of getting out what you put into it.
Many of us have been on the forum for sometime now (some more than others), and have expressed much enthuaism and desire for the bowie. I do seem to recall there was a vote on the thing. In a sense it's our knife too as our input (some more than others) was taken into consideration in its development. In a sense it's our company, forum, and our knife.
We've been patient, and above all loyal in our desires for the bowie, or any other knife from scrapyard for that matter. And many of us simply want one. I don't want to have to compete with the guy who hobby is making a little extra cash by buying up multitudes of knives to sell on the secondary market. I don't have a problem with people doing that. Capitalism is very tempting.
I will however, probably be very upset if I am not able to get a bowie. Why? Because I've put time into the forum, anticipated the release of the bowie, counted down the days to its release, and have been a loyal customer.
Personally I don't have a problem with Dan or Patti selling 50 of these things to one guy so he can turn over 49 of them on the secondary market. However, I do have a problem when I've been waiting, participating, suportive, and loyal and get squeezed out.
I don't think it's asking to much to get a fair shot at one. But those are just my two pennies on the subject.
