No.

From what I know about military contracts: they are very unstable. Some days, the armies (naval, ground, marine, air) don't order anything. Some days, they order a hell lot of things in a very short time so that the company can't supply this sudden demand.

By keeping the company small, they can survive from low demand during days, weeks or months.

i only mention the military contracts to show that the busse knife co is friggin loaded. if anybody thinks otherwise they're crazy. military contracts are hard to get and they pay a LOT. yes they can be sporadic BUT busse doesn't rely on only military orders. their base is still in retail and that they do incredibly well don't ya say? the military orders are just the very big, very lucrative cherry on top. i fully understand slowing down production on retail orders for military orders BUT when the regular production just isn't cutting it, why not expand?

it's not a coincidence that demand is always greater than supply. what better way to increase the value of a model than to discontinue it and never offer a new one until 5 years later? SFNOs go for like 400 a pop and they were offered not too long ago. but people know we'll have to wait like 7 years before we see a new one. this makes people pay the ridiculous resale prices if they want one.

obviously jerry knows how to do business...
