V ROSS you were a rocker back in the day! I have a 74 CB350 cafe racer project in the garage. If I had the cash and finished some of my current projects like the Cafe and the 65 Ford I would be working on a hardtailed shovelhead chop. There are a couple really fast Hogs around my town. One old guy just hammers on his full dresser ,I saw sparks come of the saddlebags. There is stripped down Softail that has a monster motor and low enough gearing to take my sportbike off the line.
Kraz that Honda engineering thing is for real I have flogged this bike hard and all that it's needed is basic matinence like oil changes and a bar end weight that fell off and of course a new rear tire. We did not have an Aprilla dealer in sask when I bought it but I could not have afforded one anyway. I got my 02 on the coldest day of winter just before the 03's came out and got a wicked deal. less than 10 grand canadian. The Aprilla 450 is almost 12 and the tuono about double. I was at the Aprilla dealer dealer in Regina and it was a religous experience. The Tuono is not that much better than my 919 but that would be missing the point. The Aprilla's are like a piece of art with the best of everything and thought put into every detail. For example the 450 has a kickstand that looks just like the frame.
