I agree that any decent knife should be able to handle batoning.

I do "respect" my knives. But, I "expect" them to handle my intended chores.

Your batoning was nowhere near abusive in my book and child's play for a Busse knife of any size or type of steel made by Busse.

I have seen Busse knives have the you-know-what beat out of them.

I don't personally feel the need to have to beat it like I am trying to break it to consider it a good tool. But, it is nice to know they can take it.
