I know what everyone means. These knives are tough, and sure can handle a lot of disrespect <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> But, that was also kind of the point of the post. So many people claim that batoning is abusive, and shouldn't be done. Here is a clearly legitimate reason to do it, and it is nowhere near abusive.

I should have tried to show the notch better, but a notch made this way is very useful. The center actually has a point and if you carve down deep enough, there truly is a hook made out of wood.
