That's quite odd. Titanium is suppose to be very strong. Maybe you got a dud.

I compared my plier head to Cloaks Surge plier head. They are about the same. I don't know what will happen to mine. It will get used quite heavily.

I played with the SOG multi-tool today, the compound leverage system is pretty sweet. I kinda like the powerlock with the v-cutter. Might have to get one in the future. Also, one thing I really liked was how smooth the multi tool was.
