The Bushman is by far the best bang for the buck knife CS makes. I don't know about CS's heat treatment but 1095 steel is pretty tough. As for the quality of the Bushman for a spear head, you should go here and watch the videos:
Thanks. I read it would be "wiser" to just find yourself a good stick/staff and sharpen and heat treat(fire) an end for a spear, that way you can carry a knife and a spear and use them accordingly.
