Yakima is in Central Washington. Yes, and the east side of the mountains is also the politically right side of the state too:) As for eating dogs... I once heard an old relative threaten their family dog. He said, "shut-up or I'll eat you." I don't think he was joking.
I've also heard of the local taco trucks serving "tacos al pastor aleman". It's a play on words "german shepherd tacos" instead of "shepherd tacos".
