I have not hunted them...yet. We are going to though.

Here in Iowa there is year-round open season, any gun you like. They are a pest.


There used to be a bounty on them. If I recall correctly, you had to bring in a pair of ears and they were worth like 5 bucks, but this was a long time ago. I think that they decimated the turkey and hurt the deer populations.


Now there are turkey and deer EVERYWHERE....so maybe there are fewer coyotes. I dunno.
