That's a reasonable supposition, Vic. But I think it's more logical to assume that Jerry left "literally tons of the finest tool steels available and other supplies" right where they were, creates products out of them in his existing manufacturing facilities in Wauseon, Ohio, and markets those products through Dan & Patti in Spring, Texas.

Again, I could be completely mistaken. But it costs a lot of money to create a new manufacturing facility, especially when it may not be needed. And then there's the smoking gun . . . the Inspector Numbers. So until it's proven otherwise, I'm sticking with Wauseon as the probable birthing place of Scrap Yard knives.

I was happily drinking a beer until I saw this thread,
bld522, that is very plausible, but I, like diceman prefer to pass out now <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/barf.gif" alt="" /> & snore loudly on the keyboard and wake up tomorrow morning not remembering this thread. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />
No matter where the knives are made, I'll keep buying them!
You ROCK, Dan! Keep them coming! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />
