Actually I heard the hook does not really work for bottlecaps.
In many cases a knife is a better choice than a handgun especially in very close quarters. The police are taught that if you let a knife weilder withing 20 feet you are as good as dead. Also knife attacks are 3 times as likely to kill as a gunshot according to the FBI 10% for guns 30% for knives.

I would not get a Glock or XD not because they aren't exellent guns but because I like blued steel and wood. A CZ75 or SIG210 if I had the bucks(and did not live in canada)
