Res-c is soft enough that you don't want to beat on it & it will melt under extreme heat like that from fire but the suns heat won't bother it.
The handles are friction fit & the lanyard tube does hold the handle onto the tang.
I haven't had or heard of the handle rotating on the tang so fagetaboutit.
Just remember the steel is for beating on & the res-c is for holding onto the steel. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
