My 10/22 was made before the extended magazine release. The red part fixed the problem and then some. It takes about 5 minutes to install if you a little cleaning while you are at it.

Those rings/bases would work so you could see the iron sights if you didn't want to use the scope. But with a 50mm objective lens you can't see the front sight anyway.
