been looking at that one... looks like it's even tapped for the scope mount maybe.

It is definitely tapped for a scope mount.

They are selling (preorder) for $20 more than than the regular threaded 22/45, which goes for about $350. Considering the price of the Tacsol Paclite upgrades that go for $300 and more, this is an awesome deal. Ruger apparently has been watching the modification market and is cashing in on what they have seen there. First the Takedown and now something that will definitely hurt Tactical Solution's sales.

Will I get this? Probably not. I considered it, but to me an aluminum bull barrel is self defeating. I use my pistol for target shooting when I don't want to sell a kidney to keep my 45 fed and rabbit hunting when I want to be able to get a quick second shot should I miss the bunny - not that I ever miss <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

This gun would not feel as much like a 45 since it is so light and that lightness will also make recoil increase helping the bunny get away if someone misses the first shot like I never do.

That said and without ever actually handling this weapon, if you are looking for a super light survival pistol or just a fun plinker, I am betting this will be the best bang for your buck.
