Not necessarily knife fighting. I am considering just some boxing. Just to have some experience in hand to hand combat. There arn't many places around my house to train/learn/take lessons. Thats the problem.
Boxing is good stuff. You get movement, build power and get used to contact.
For me, it boils down to training with others who are actively resisting you/trying to bang on you. I spent years in kung-fu and Tae Kwon Do thinking I was pretty bad...things like boxing, kickboxing, muay thai, BJJ, judo, mma, wrestling let you know quickly and clearly how you are doing and where you are at in the pecking order. imo-ymmv
