the virginia tech shooter wasn't white, nor did he use an AR. but he was being treated for a psychiatric disorder(s) with pharmaceuticals. if you've ever seen the commercials for these medications you'll notice that many of them say they may increase violent or suicidal behavior, yet it doesn't seem that anyone holds these companies accountable ($$$.) i'm willing to bet that there are a lot of small scale violent incidents related to these medications that don't get picked up on the radar. in a similar way that crimes involving military communities are kept out of the spotlight.
