I did check out one of those fancy handled 119 offerings. When I picked the knife up, it felt quite a bit more heavy than the regular black handled version. The look of the piece is stunning by any margin.

I wonder how many 119's are out there. My old ones have seen lots of use in the field and are still ticking. The only 110 that I had I gave away as a gift to an old friend.

It always took a while to get an edge on my 119, something that has not been an issue with the 1311. I was told that the original Buck steel used in the mid 1970's was a tad on the hard side when contrasted with the 420C used today.
